The casa was old and needed a serious facelift, but had fantastic bones. We decided to keep as much of the old charm (including some of the peeled paint) and just intervene by adding some modern elements.
This project was completed during confinement, so it took longer to get the necessary permissions and materials, but everything worked out fantastic in the end, including the budget!
The layout is unusual but offers a space where 5 bedrooms are connected to the central courtyard and kitchen-lounge. The entire house functions as a beautiful unit and is a joy to live in.

We found this flat for a bargain and loved the potential it oozed. The design brief was to open the space up and give it a modern, but cosy feel.
We recycled as much as we could, but had to reorganise part of the layout to accommodate a better flow and bring in more light.
The owners were back in South Africa when the construction started, but we had meetings every week and reached a fantastic end product together within a question of 3 months, start to finish!
